Hunting In Freefall As Sussex Hunts Merge

It’s official! The British Hound Sports Association (BHSA) has confirmed that the Southdown & Eridge Hunt and the East Sussex & Romney Marsh Hunt are merging together! This great news means that there will now be one less fox hunt in the South East.

The new organisation will be known as the Southdown & Eridge Hunt with East Sussex & Romney Marsh – just rolls off the tongue doesn’t it? The long names of many hunts nowadays are testament to the fact that so many are folding or merging together. In fact, the Southdown & Eridge Hunt was itself a merger between – you guessed it – the Southdown Hunt & the Eridge Hunt, with the East Sussex & Romney Marsh itself already being a merger of two hunts.

The newly formed wildlife crime gang is currently advertising for a new huntsman to hunt their vast country. Whoever they are, they are guaranteed to be sabotaged extensively – not least due to the fact that sabs are running out of hunts to hit in the South East!

Huge kudos goes out to the many sabs who have taken action against both these hunts throughout the many decades of sustained direct action.
