On Saturday (6th September) hunt sabs shut down the Three Counties Mink Hounds in Warwickshire.

Sabs from the Nottingham, Severn Vale, Three Counties and West Midlands groups mobilised after receiving intel that the hunt would be meeting at Whitehouse Farm, Aston Cantlow in Warwickshire – the home of former hunt master, Mark Allen.
The hunt was stopped in their tracks less than half an hour after they started, moving south along the River Alne.

The terriermen – complete with spades, poles and terriers to target any hunted wildlife that would seek refuge in the river banks – quickly scarpered, as did the small group of supporters present.

Hounds were immediately gathered up before being led on a short ‘walk of shame’ to a road junction to be boxed up and taken away in their hound van, but not before sabs had to slow traffic down and were treated to some theatrics from the meet host.

A Hunt Saboteurs Association spokesperson said:
Despite their ever shrinking numbers, secrecy and notorious difficulty to track down, once again hunt sabs have done exactly that.
This is the fourth different mink and otter hunting pack that has been found and stopped by sabs this summer – some of them a number of times.
Mink hunting is the summer bloodsport, and is now winding down as the hare and fox hunting seasons get going, but rest assured, hunt sabs are determined to build on their riverside successes and will confine these remaining packs to the history books.
