Blencathra Sept 2010

To avoid the hunt breaking the law, concerned observers call the split packs of the Blencathra hounds off the line of a fox. Huntsman Barry Todhunter warns them over the radio not to take control of his hounds.
If he was in control of his hounds, he must have been deliberately hunting the fox they were on. No? His usual excuse is that he is not in control of them when they are chasing foxes.

This is 5 1/2 years after a ban on hunting with hounds…

The government has launched a public consultation on Trail Hunting – this is our chance to stop cruel hunting for good. You can read the HSA’s guidance and take part in the consultation here. The deadline is 18th June 2026 – make sure your voice is heard.
