West Mids Hunt Sabs Highlight Collusion in the Countryside

Following tonight’s shocking ITV News exposé, West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs sent the following report:

Like all hunts, the Warwickshire Hunt causes misery to local communities and our wildlife – and we are the only line of defence for foxes in Warwickshire.

Fox hunted through the housing estate.

Over the years we have witnessed and documented The Warwickshire Hunt hold up an ambulance on blue lights, hounds defecate on gravestones, invade people’s gardens and homes, create dangerous road incidents, trespass on active railway lines where some hounds were hit and killed, chase and kill not only foxes but other wildlife including deer. We have filmed all the above as well as numerous fox kills and foxes routinely chased.

Nose down: Warwickshire Hunt hound hunting the fox.

Since the start of this month alone, the Warwickshire Hunt have caused chaos in Oxhill where they trespassed and wrecked gardens in pursuit of a fox, caused chaos on the A422, spent over an hour trespassing on land despite the landowner telling them to get off, have called a sab a ‘a fucking mong’ and of course there’s the ITV incident.

Sabs saves lives: whip cracks and scent duller buy the fox valuable time.

The Warwickshire Hunt knew there were journalists out with us that day, in fact they even tried to get into our vehicle aggressively demanding a right to reply and to see some ID from the journalists. They then arrogantly hunted a fox through a housing estate in front of those same journalists. That arrogance stems from their feeling that they are untouchable and above the law – a feeling that Warwickshire Police has only contributed to.

”Leave it!” , the sound of whip cracking stops the hounds.

Just this month Warwickshire Police have said they are going to carry on doing nothing and see how it all pans out:

We have committed to providing an update later in the hunting season when we have a fuller picture of progress – Warwickshire Police November 2024, Stratford Herald

This is why we need a proper hunting ban to stop hunts from exploiting current loopholes, to stop the misery caused to local communities and to stop the barbaric archaic ‘sport’ of hunting. A proper, watertight ban would make it harder for pro-hunt police forces like Warwickshire Police to keep ‘protecting’ hunts like the Warwickshire.

The Warwickshire Hunt kill foxes.

Scenes such as those featured in the ITV News report are not isolated incidents or accidents – as hunts frequently claim – but happen frequently. The footage shows that sabs are not only still needed but are the ONLY line of defence for our wildlife because the Hunting Act is so weak, and the police don’t do anything. Without sabs stopping the lead hounds the full pack would have rampaged through the housing estate in Kineton after the fox. The fate of the fox would have been different if hunt sabs had not been there because, as can be seen in the footage, the paid hunt staff did absolutely nothing to stop the hounds.

Causing chaos in the local community.

This is just a snapshot of what is happening all over the country. We need a proper ban in place to protect our wildlife and communities from hunters. Scenes like those in the ITV News report should not be happening and police forces need to stop turning a blind eye.
