This Friday sees the second National Trail Hunting Day, dubbed Farcical Friday by the HSA. The event has been cobbled together by pro-bloodsports lobby group the British Hound Sports Association in an attempt to present ‘trail hunting’ as a legitimate activity.

This year, there are just seven events across the country, a humiliating reduction from the thirty that took place in 2024. Additionally, the event has been moved to a Friday in a desperate attempt to attract the interest of the MPs, PCCs, Rural Crime Officers and journalists who so comprehensively ignored the event last year.

Even the stated theme – “transparency and engagement” – is part of the deception. The Devon meet, for example, will take place at a racecourse to ensure there are no embarrassing accidents when the hounds are unleashed!

The HSA has already contacted all MPs explaining that it would not be a good look for them to attend an event organised by a convicted fox hunter. On the day itself, we will be releasing new footage – the result of a year-long investigation – of a major foxhunt being caught in the act on multiple occasions.

Everybody knows that ‘trail hunting’ is a smokescreen for illegal hunting and the BHSA’s miserable little pantomime is already shaping up to a be another complete failure.
