“Oh My God…I’m So Sorry…There’s Nothing I Can Do!”

Viewer Discretion Advised

These are the desperate cries of a Powys resident as they filmed hunt hounds tearing a fox to pieces in their neighbour’s garden.

Two days after the HSA released video of the Avon Vale Hunt throwing a live fox to hounds, we have been given permission to share horrifying footage of a hunt in Powys on the afternoon of Wednesday 22nd November.

The resident – who has been left traumatised by the event – heard a hunting horn and witnessed hunt quad bikes stationed on a nearby hill. As she went to investigate, she was confronted by the appalling sight of hounds savaging a fox that had sought refuge between a fence and a small greenhouse.

The resident wishes to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals by violent hunt thugs.

An HSA spokesperson commented:

“In two days’ time, hunts across the country will gather for their ‘shop window’ event – the Boxing Day meet. They had hoped that the pageantry of this occasion – the red coats, glasses of sherry and mince pies – would provide a seasonal smokescreen to hide the grim reality of fox hunting.

But those hopes have been dashed.

Just this week, we have seen an Oxfordshire huntsman convicted of fox-baiting, a Cheshire huntsman convicted of illegal hunting, a pair of Kent hunt terriermen convicted of gross cruelty to their dogs, a huntsman convicted of throwing a live fox to hounds, and – today – this footage of a trespassing hunt ripping a fox to pieces in a householder’s garden.

With a general election less than a year away, time is surely running out for illegal foxhunting.”
